“Unfortunately, I think that’s true,” Leavitt said. “My generation, Gen Z, and many who are even younger have been raised with silver spoons in their mouths. They’ve become used to having everything handed to them, and those aren’t the values this country was built upon.”
She went on to emphasize that, in her view, the United States has always been defined by personal responsibility, determination, and the belief that success should be earned through effort rather than entitlement.
“This country was built on meritocracy and hard work,” she said. “It’s about rolling up your sleeves, putting in the effort, and pursuing the American Dream. Those are the principles we need to protect with everything we’ve got.”
Leavitt concluded with a controversial remark, suggesting that people who criticize life in the United States should compare it with conditions in countries facing significant political and economic challenges.
“Send them to Cuba. Send them to Iran,” she said. “They’ll want to come back real quick.”
